Furash; R. Perry, Comptroller; D. White; R. jouza Reserve Fund Requests Treasurer requests $12,000 for interest on tax anticipation notes. Borrowing this year is only $200,000 more than it was last year at this time; however interest rates have increased from 2.1 or 2.3j', to 3.5% (Most recent $million borrowed cost 3.47 — 3.55%). More money will probably have to be requested later when additional borrowing is necessary. Voted to transfer $12,000 from Reserve Fund for interest. Police and Fire Medical request $1,000 for doctors and hospital bills for a fireman injured in line of duty. $90 remains of $500 appropriated. Voted to transfer $1000 fiom Reserve Fund to accouit A125 Cary Memorial Library requests $1200 for a microfilm machine. Letter from E. Clarke, hairman of Board of Trustees explained that this was for a second microfilm machine for the main desk of Cary Library which they can purchase now for $1200, a saving of $300 on last year's purchase price of $1500 and a greater saving on anticipated cost next March. Board of Trustees has voted apptoval of purchase; if funds are not available from Reserve Fund, Trustees funds will have to be used, leaving less money for books. Appropriation Committee could not justify such a transfer as either emergency or unforeseen. Motion to transfer $1200 was made, seconded, majority opposed. Planning Board requests $1100 for printing legal notices. This was explained in previous meeting. Planning Board will use about $200 of its expense money for this printing but still needs $1100. Voted to transfer $1100 from Reserve Fund to account #1650. Budget Forms approved. Salary Study Committee — discussed requesting reactivation of Salary Study Committee as soon as possible Dick Blomfield is Appropriation Committee's appointee to this committee.
