Meeting of the Appropriation Committee, October 9, 1967, 7:30 p.m.
Present: Frank Parish, Chairman; L. Zehner; D. Grant; E. Furash;
R. Gary; G. Kolovson; R. Perry, Comptroller.
Reserve Fund Requests
Interest on debt, 31,500 voted on October 2, 1967 reaffirmed.
Principal, $3,000 voted on October 2, 1967 reaffirmed.
Health Department, Expenses, $3,100 requested. This was referred
back to the Health Dept. for a month by month estimate of the
liabilities to be incurred each month.
Veterans Benefits, $11,000 requested. This was referred back to
!fZ Veterans Dept. with request that an estimate of their liabilities
by each of the three categories (Aid, Medicines, and Hospital) be
Ca submitted on a month to month basis for the rest of the year.
Group Insurance (Town's share of Blue Cross) $11,250 requested.
Voted to transfer $11,250 from Reserve Fund.
Health—Engineering, $200 requested. Voted to transfer $100 from
Reserve Fund.
Teachers Salary Study Committee
Frank Parrish discussed his meeting with this Committee.
Letter on Reserve Fund balance
The following letter was writea by Dick Per.y for the Chairman
of the Board of Selectmen's signature and will be distributed to all
Boards, Committees, Departments and Commissions on Oct. 10, 1967:
"Due to the heavy demand on the Reserve Fund this year, (it is
almost depleted), for extraordinary and unforeseen circumstances,
it is imperative that every Board, Department, Committee, and
Commission limit their expenditure to the budget amount approved
by Town Meeting."
