Chapter 40 of the General Laws. M.A.P.C. has sent a bulletin
Outlining its plans for constructing incinerators to serve the
regions in this area.
Art. 27 — Concord Ave. Sidewalk
Robert Kingsbon, Erik Mollo—Christianson, and Wm. halon came to
give information in support of this citizens' Article.
Article as written requests appropriation of $20,000 from E & D
for construction of sidewalk from westerly end of Benjamin Rd.
to Waltham St. This is not one of the sidewalks recommended
by the School Dept. because children in this area are bussed.
Residents have petitioned (120 signatures) because traffic, which
generally travels at 40 m.p.h. or more, endangers pedestrians,
particularly Jr. H.S. and U.S. students who stay at school for
extra—curricular activities and must walk from Waltham St.
Art. 10 Bedford Sewer, original appropriation was $166,000,
balance remaining from this appropriation is 3159,000. Additional
money is to be requested to make pipes larger than originally
planned. Inquire whether the general sewer appropriation can be
used for this purpose.
Art. 13 Emerson Road — Ask whether this will be constructed with
or without betterments assessed.
Out—of—state travel (see minutes of npril 24, 1967)
Limitation of appropriation in any year to 1/100% of assessed
valuation for the last three years applies to each department
not to total out—of—state travel budget.
Next Meeting — May 22. Try to see Arthur Burrell, Jules
Sussman,and Selectmen, Plan"ing Board (Emerson Rd. ).
