Parrish, Carlson, Gary, Noyes, Zehner, Mrs. Souza Chairman Parrish has heard from Selectmen that: Salary Study Committee has been appointed — Lincoln Cole, Selectman; Sidney Williams, TMMA; Don Noyes, Approp. Comm.j Neil Chapman, H.P.Hood; and Milton H. Bretscher, Insurance Co. Selectmen have agreed to do something about Town Report, possibly appoint a committee. Selectmen wrote Planning Board that it is their policy not to grant increases above the regular step increases, therefore they do not approve raising Zaleski from 525 III to 525 V. Selectmen wrote Fire Commissioners that they have reconsidered previous action and voted to approve 1 man in addition to the 1 man previously approved. Budget Requests discussed and voted on. All budgets through #4250 which had not been previously approved were discussed. The following budgets were held open: #1950 Town Clerk, Elections — to be checked with Mary McDonough #2470 Recreation — decided to ask Chairman to discuss this with us. #3750, 3800, and 4100 and 4150 Police and Fire — to be discussed with Selectmen. Selectmen will be advised that $1,000 has been approved for #1130 Guide Director, instead of 11,500 requested. #1760 — Printing Town Report — $3,300 approved since the contract has been let already. A letter is ID be sent to Selectmen recommending a smaller budget for next year. #3025 — Assessors Provessional Services $2,500 voted #3300 Health $8,125 voted. Tuberculosis care budget reduced — no known cases. #2900 Out—of—State Travel $0 voted All out—of—state travel budgets which were approved were approved subject to further discussion with Selectmen about possibility of having one out—of—state travel budget administered by them to replace the many small ones we now have. #1600 — Arthur Bryson of Planning Board entered to discuss this. Planning Bd. is unanimous in their wish to increase Alec Zaleski's salary two steps this year. He was paid the minimum salary to start because he had had no previous experience as Planning Director; they feel that his performance has been superior, for example, he handles all details of subdivision control which formerly took much of the Planning Board's time. Appropriation Committee agreed to rate of $11,500 for this salary and voted 013,518 for this budget. Meeting adjourned at10:57 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Ruth F. So: za, acting secretary
