Appropriation Committee Meeting, December 13, 1965
Meeting called to order by Chairman Parrish at 7:40 p.m.
Requests from Reserve Fund:
A. Approved the transfer of $1,163 to the Town Clerk's Dept. to
cover deficit in appropriat._on of Personal Services.
B. The transfer of $976 to the Maintenance of Fire Alarm and Radio
Account of the Fire Dept. was affirmed after receipt of letter
from Selectmen (item had been approved on 6 Dec. 1965).
LrJ Visit by Chief of Police with officer displaying new uniform — funds of
r—I $225 per man to be requested.
Report b: Mr. Gary on School Committee meeting with TiroUA on 8 Dec. 1965:
School budget increase to be $648,615 (11.7%) — feasibility of kindergarten
introduced because of slowdown in 1st grade enrolment.
Visit by Mr. Al Gray re: the salary of welfare Director — to be referred
to Selectmen.
Discussion of various budgets including the following:
A. #1125 Selectmen's Fire and Police Medical cut from $4,000 to $500.
B. #1130 Guides' Directorpostponed pending further information.
C. #1150 Town Clerk request for more information re: necessity of
new clerk.
D. Article to raise salary Town Clerk/Treasurer: approved 4500
incrr_se to Torn Clerk — 3250 increase to Treasurer.
Present were all members except Mr. White.
Meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
