The Appropriation Committee met on Monday evening, October 11, 1965
at 7:30 p.m. an the office of the Town Accountant
Present: Fr,nnk T. Parrish, Jr. Chairman J. Harper Blaisdell
Allan F. Kenney Robert M. Gary
Logan Clarke, Jr Doanld P. Noyes
Mrs. Richard W. Souza Raymond L. White, secretary
The chairman received a letter from Arthur E. Burrell requesting a
transfer of $1,685.50 from the Reserve Fund to the Civil Defense
Expense Account. Chairman Frank T. Parrish, Jr. telephoned each member
of the Appropriation Committee and received a nege,tive vote.
e—; The chairman received a request for a transfer of $500 from the
Reserve Fund to Recreation — Expense account for program for retarded
children. This was approved.
Frank Parrish met with Lincoln Cole, Chairman of Board of Selectmen,
and suggested that Town personnel salary be raised $290 per employee.
At 9:50 p m. the Appropriation Committee went down stairs and joined
the Board of Selectmen's meeting. The Board of Selectmen are in
agreement on a $290. increase per employee. The Police and Fire
employees got the $290 increase first.
Public Works employees to work 40 hours per weekl This will require
six more employees for Public Works Dept. if hours are 40 hours per
week instead of 44 hours.
November 15th 1965 is the dead line for next year's budget.
$26,000 will be approximate increase.
