The Appropriation Committee met on Monday evening, September 13, 1965
at 7:45 p.m.
Present: Frank T. Parrish, Jr. Chairman J. Harper Blaisdell
Oscar R. Carlson Robert M. Gary
Mrs. Richard W. Souza Donald P. Noyes
Logan Clarke, Jr. Louis A. Zehner
Allan F. Kenney Raymond L. White, secy.
The meeting was duly opened and the first items considered were two
requests from the Reserve Fund.
1. 3150.20 requested from the Reserve Fund to Printing Town
e—� Report — expense account. A motion was made and seconded.
2. $1,685.50 requested from the Reserve Fund to Civil Defense —
= expense account — A motion was made, seconded and voted to
disapprove this request.
Allan F. Kenney spoke in general on the library budget and items he
had obtained from Mr. Nyren, Director,and other budget items he has
looked into; such as revised salary schedule. Budget for personal
services for yeaa• 1965 is $136,500 and for year 1906 is $150,767.
State Aid Funds Suggested that such funds should be put under
separate articles.
John Blaisdell stated that he has had two or three meetings on Public
Works Building. Engineering and Public Works should be together.
Alfred Gray, Executive Assistant entered our meeting at 9:30 p.m. but
did not have the IBM survey report with him.
The forms to be sent out to the various department heads on which
they submit their 1966 bud*ets were reviewed. No major changes were
suggested. Oscar Carlson had several worthwhile minor suggestions.
A more extensive information sheet was suggested.
Meeting adjourned at 10:20 p.m.
