PLACE: Town Office Building - Room 111 PRESENT: Donald White, Chairman, George Silverman, Vice Chairman, �-; Richard M. Perry, Secretary, John Blaisdell, John "7.-1 Campbell, Mitzi Kutchin I . DEPARTMENT CF PUBLIC WORKS Director of Public Works, John McSweeney met with the Appropriation Committee and the following points were made : 1. John Campbell asked Mr. McSweeney just what the town policy was re town sewers? Mr. McSweeney stated that the report being done had not come in yet and that he would report back re this. 2. A great deal of what is sewered in the town is dictated by the Board of Health. 3. Chairman White asked if the town has a legal obligation to sewer every house? 4. Of the $400,000 - $200,000 has to go to complete projects previously started. We are only talking about a new 200;000 here: 5. Storm Drains - $40,000 to $35,000. 6. Sanitary Landfill - Mr. McSweeney stated that for the first time they had had a very productive meeting - a workable plan is to be worked up. 7. John Blaisdell stated his great disapproval re the garbage pickup. 8. Collection of recycleables - current return is $11,000 - A long way from breaking even - only 6% participation since November. 9. Town vehicles - has there been a policy established here? 10. It was suggested to the Chairman that the following questions be asked of the Board of Selectmen: 1. Policy on sewers? 2. Policy on town vehicles? 3. Policy on streets? 4. D.P.W. equipment 31 a. II . SCHOOL CLOSING (Parker) Vice Chairman Silverman stated that he was not ready to vote re the closing of the above school.
