APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE
DATE: February 28 , 1977

I. LIBRARY
1. It is the general feeling that the Library is planning
to come to Town Meeting with Security Systems Article.
2. Howard Levingston has spoken to Bob Hilton and explained
that the Appropriation Committee will oppose this until
the Library has demonstrated that all avenues have been
explored to prevent thievery.
II . PERSONNEL BOARD
1. A memo was sent to Howard Kassler submitting names for
above Board in order ofreference with cc to Town Manager
and John Butler (on file) .
III . CORRESPONDENCE
A letter was received re gun control from Steven Doran and
placed on file. The Appropriation Committee voted to leave
their report stand as is.
IV. STUDENT TOWN MEETING
March 16, 1977 - 8:00 A.M. to 12 P.M. An invitation was
extended to all Committee members from Betsy White , daughter
of Vice Chairman Donald White.
V. REPLACE
Leiter was received from James McKee, Director and the
Committee has voted the Town Manager's recommendation.
VI . SANITARY LANDFILL
a. Town Manager and DPW to select consultant to do work.
b. Curbside pickup - 40-45,000 per year.
c. To save money the whole town must participate.
d. Landfill has about 4 more years of life left in it.

e. Will start with 1 year trial program - if good we
would continue.
Meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 7, 1977 at 7:30 P.M.
