APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE-

`T I. RECREATION
1. Lincoln St. - $5,000 - to take care of parking area for this yr.
2. Ballfield Lighting - #1 Priority - requesting $4,000 for more
engineering work. If approval given for above,bids will be
ready before Town Meeting. Chairman Furash questioned the
weather factor here and was told this would be ok.
Upon motions duly made and seconded,
all Boards VOTED in favor of the
above expenditure.
3 . Tennis - 1974-75 increase of 18% - 6 ,143 cards issued.
Chairman Furash stated there is a very strong feeling with
tennis reservations and did not endorse any more courts to be
built. Mr. Briggs stated that tennis rated very high (top five)
on the recreation survey - swimming pool #1 priority.
4. Mr. Silverman stated he wanted no new projects until we see a
plan.
5. Chairman Furash mentioned that: 1) we would like results of the
Planning Board study released and examined by the Board of
Selectmen -- put in a form of a 5-year program and 2) we would
like to have presented to Town Meeting a forecast of financial
impact of each of the projects.
It was so VOTED by the Board of Selectman that the remainder of the
meeting would be EXECUTIVE SESSION.
Meeting adjourned at 12 : 10 P.M.
