White, Vice --� Chairman, Schools, J. H. Blaisdell, Harry Hall, �-9 Patricia K. Hagedorn, Howard L. Levingston, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller I. MAJOR ISSUES FOR 75-76 SEASON Chairman Furash spoke to the Committee and listed ideas that he felt should be kept in the minds of all members: a. The Committee operates on concensus and the role of the Committee is truly a difficult one. b. The Appropriation Committee is a Committee of the Town Meeting -- we represent the people of the town and we are a non-partisan group. c. Our role is one of essentially looking out for what the taxpayer has to pay. d. Inspections e. Recreation - this, if not looked into could get out of hand this year. f. Recreation Study g. Budget processing and Town Meeting date. h. Standard operating procedure for citizen's articles. i. By-law change re Appropriation Committee expiration date. j. Lexington Visiting Nurse Association Assessment. k. Education of Firemen - no one thought of the details of financing herb, 1. Compensation Review Board - J. Butler to be contacted here. 15.8. II . E & D Available is 1 mil 4 - We are in good shape going into '76 Town Meeting Chairman Furash stated. III . SCHOOL The Appropriation Committee authorized Mr. Donald B. White to express the Committee's feeling re the retro- active raise to be given to Superintendent Fobert. "In view of his resignation, this Committee feels this sort of move would set a dangerous precedent" . Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
