APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE
DATE: June 16, 1975
TIME: 7:30 P.M.
PLACE: Town Office Building, Room 111
PRESENT: Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Donald B. White, Vice
Chairman-Schools, J. H. Blaisdell, Martin A. Gilman,
�'. Patricia K. Hagedorn, Howard L. Levingston,
Richard M. Perry, Comptroller
RESERVE FUND BALANCE: $76.784.00
I. RECREATION STUDY
A. There will be a girl working full time this summer
in the Planning Board Office.
B. Chairman Furash stated that the Appropriation Committee
wouldnotbe sending a member of the Committee to work
on this study.
C. Deadline to complete said study is January 1, 1976.
II. Chairman Furash stated that the following issues would be
"hot" ones during the upcoming year:
Recreation
Fire
Police
Personnel Functions
Timing and Scheduling of Town Meeting
III. APPOINTMENTS
Upon motions duly made and seconded, the following
appointments were VOTED:
Edward E. Furash, Chairman
Donald B. White, Vice Chairman-Schools
Richard M. Perry, Secretary*
*Chairman Furash is to check this out with Selectman
Kenney.
IV. It was moved by Mr. Gilman and seconded by Mr. Levingston
that the Appropriation Committee express it's appreciation
to Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn. Secretary, a Copy of the following
was sent to Mrs. Flynn together with a personal letter from
the Chairman:

It was moved and seconded that the Appropriation
Committee express it's sincere appreciation to
Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn for her many years of service.
Her contributions to our Committee were manifold
and her many efforts will be sorely missed.
The Chairman expressed his appreciation for the fine work
Mrs. O'Brien has done and asked that this be noted in the
Town Folder.
V. The following are points the Chairman would like discussed
with the Selectmen:
a. ADL
b. purchasing controls
c, citizen's articles - signatures necessary should
be increased.
d. police management - personnel board should get
into the picture here in greater depth.
c. by-law change re term of service for Appropriation
Committee members.
d. Lexington Visiting Nurse Association - would like
to get into this in more depth just to see exactly
what role they play.
VI . RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS
Upon motions duly made and seconded, the following
reserve fund transfers were VOTED.
1. $1,500 to account #5550 Traffic regulations and controls.
2. 82,000 to Account #7500 Library Personnel Services.
3. 812,160 to Account #1090 Personal Services
(less $500.00 for H. Isenberg drawings - not considered
unforseen or extraordinary)
4. $8,310.19 to Account #1775 Law Fees
5. $4,400 to Account #5700 Sewer Maintenance •
6. $1,975 to Account #5400 Highway Maintenance
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
