I . RECREATION
a. Ballfield Lighting - A. Bernier stated he felt this was not
a sound idea at this time.
b. Tennis Courts - the same people use the courts on a constant
basis. J. Mitchell is to try and secure a sign-up book if
possible.
c. Completion of Comprehensive Recreation Study is a "must" Chairman
Furash stated.
e. Note was made by the Town Manager that the swim tag cost was up.
II. The following points are to be brought up with the meeting of the
Board of Selectmen:
a. Chairman Furash stated that he wanted to see the M-Scale increases
and also the pink sheets. This request was made to Selectman
Kenney.
b. SEDA - we should be putting on more SEDA people. Selectman
Kenney stated that they planned to use this to the fullest.
c. Separation of Articles 4 & 5. This is to be discussed further
with Norm Cohen.
d. Inspection Article has further costs in terms of people?
e. What is the Selectmen's position on Recreation?
f. Finding of personnel director?
g. What programatic costs can be made in General Town Government?
III . APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE REPORT
Changing the format of the report was discussed by the Committee
members. It will be necessary to issue a supplementary report
prior to Town Meeting Chairman Furash stated.
IV . CONVENTIONS
Appropriation Committee members suggested that the dollar cost
be cut here and the number of trips be scruitinized very closely.
V. METERED MAIL
Twice as many tax bills has caused a substantial increase here.
Town Manager O'Connell stated that he would like to have bills
sent out more than twice a year.

VI. CONSERVATION SIGNS
Mrs. Flynn stated that she felt the present signs were not
at all attractive. Perhaps as a project the Vocational School
students couldmake these.
VII . CATV
Will take $300.00 out of $350.00 budget Selectman Kenney stated.
VIII . HEALTH DEPARTMENT
�--� We see the LVNA getting out of control Chairman Furash stated.
If your Board wants to go on another year - OK, however, we think
you should get out of this right now.
IX. POLICE CARS
Can we cut out a car this year? Compact cars should be sufficient.
Howard Levingston is to look into this and report back to Committee.
Water Meter reader and Health Department Building Inspector can use
smaller car.
X. ARTICLES 4 &
Messrs. Perry and Cohen are to get together and smooth out
mechanics on this.
XI. PERSONNEL DIRECTOR
Town Manager O'Connell stated that his position on this will be
available to both Committees by the end of February. We will have
a personnel administrator by Town Meeting, Mr. O'Connell stated.
Meeting adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
Next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 1975 at 8:30 A.M.
