APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE
DATE: October 15, 1974
TIME : 7 : 30 P.M.
PLACE: Town Office Building, Room 111
PRESENT : Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell , Vice
Chairman, Gen. Gov't. , Donald B. White , Vice Chairman,
Schools , Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. H. Blaisdell ,
Arthur T. Bernier, Martin Gilman, Howard L. Levingston,
Richard M. Perry, Comptroller
T . COMMUNICATIONS
a.Acknowledgement of memorial gift to the Perry family.
b.Chairman Furash stated Stuart DeBard's critique of our
Report.
II. Upon motions duly made and seconded the Appropriation
Committee 's budget for $4,060 was VOTED.
III . CAPITAL EXPENDITURES
Present: Messrs. Kingston, Silverman, Dailey, Whitman
a. TMMA Forum discussed - sewers probably will be on agenda.
b. Chairman Furash would like Capital Expenditures to look
at long-term projects (School Dept-Recreation plans-Land
Acquisition-Tax Rate) .
c. It was suggested by the Chairman that perhaps the Capital
Expenditures Committee should publish a report prior to
the Appropriation Committee 's report.
IV. BUDGETS
a. Town Manager O'Connell joined the meeting at 9: 25 P.M. to
discuss upcoming budget deadlines. A memo concerning this
was distributed to the Appropriation Committee. Chairman
Furash told the Town Manager that as yet a model had not
been drawn up.
b. Proposed Capital Budget for 1976 was distributed to the
Committee.
c . Proposed Expense Budget for 1976 was distributed to the
Committee.
d. Proposed Personal Services Budget was also distributed by
the Town Manager for review by the Appropriation Committee .
e. Chairman Furash stated that the final budget material should
be submitted by the end of January.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 21, 1974 at 7:30 P.P .
