Michelson Dan McCabe of the Capital Expenditures Committee advised they had already met with D.P.W. , Town Manager, Fire Dept. , Library and Recreation Comm. Talked of joint meetings between Appropriation Committee and Capital Expenditures Committee for budget reviews. ? *• Recreation has extensive list of items - Field Lighting, Lincoln St. Development. Discussed D.P.W. projects in detail, including equipment requests. tNext meeting - Jan. 30 at 7:30 P.M. with Conservation Commission at 7:30 P.M. and Recreation at 8:00 P.M. Met in Executive Session with members of Conservation Commission - D. Williams, G. Frick, F. Smith, C. Prentiss. D. Williams discussed land transaction concerning Pine Meadows Golf Course for either easement or fee. $1.2 million for easement-owners retain land and pay taxes and have all rights except development. $1.7 million for fee - we purchase and lease back to conduct golf course. Comment by Conservation Commission that 10% of Town is Conservation Land. Discussed Acct. #2460-Conservation Commission Expense Budget. Conservation Commission withdrew from meeting. 4170 Recreation Committee joined meeting. Chairperson Lynn Wilson, R. Eby, S. Nablo, J. Marshall and J. Halverson, M. Coscia and C. Prentiss. Joel Adler was observer from TMMA. Lynn Wilson and Joan Halverson discussed expense budget and reason'- for increase in Personal Services, - adding staff at pool because of accident last fall. Capital Projects include requests for: Tennis Courts $ 7,500 * Playgrounds 15,000 * Athletic Field Lighting 100,000 Lincoln Street Study 5,000 *Only these 2 items recommended by Town Manager. Muehlmann, S. Toye, N. Barnert, G. Doran, M. O'Sullivan, J. Campbell. Met with Capital Expenditures Committee - D. McCabe, E. Arlan, J. Ward, R. Michelson and R. Perry. TMMA observer - J. Adler. Moved and voted to accept minutes of January 9 and 13th meetings. Police Chief Paul Furdon joined meeting. Discussed Police Expense Budget of $233,250. Main increases in cruisers and computer parking costs. Asking for 9 vehicles in '85 budget - 6 patrol cars, 2 administrator's cars, 1 detective's car. Have received $238,000 from all forms of parking receipts and $150,000 in moving violations in past 12 months. Fire Chief John Bergeron and Deputy Chief Henri Fradette joined meeting. May reorganize if Collective Bargaining accepted with a Deputy as Fire Prevention Head. Reviewed goals of department and reviewed and answered questions on each line of budget.
