W. Tonaszuck, Dir. , DPW joined meeting - Explained that request under Article 4-
Line Item #5400 - Highway Maintenance would be for $160,000 rather than $212,650.
(Down $52,650) as originally presented.
Article 15 will contain only borrowing authorization of $232,716 as originally
proposed ($181,918 for paving and $50,908 for Hartwell Ave. design work.)
Stan Toye reported on towns that have or have had mini-bus services:
Winchester - Discontinued due to Prop. 22.
Bedford - Not a town wide service. Make limited runs to few locations, but
particularly to Burlington Mall. Contractor also furnishes school
bus transportation.
Newton - Contractor also furnishes school bus transportation. City provided
only $15,000 "seed" money when program started and recently added
$15,000 more. Fare is .75 plus .25each zone passed through.
Respectfully submitted,
