Present: P Hamburger, R Pawliczek, A Levine, S Spector, D Brown, A Nedzel, J Ryan Absent: C Welch, E Michelson, D Kessler Motion: Approve minutes of June 22, 1999. Unanimous • Election of officers for Fiscal 2000 Motion: Nominate P Hamburger as Chairman. Seconded. Unanimous Motion: Nominate R Pawliczek as Vice Chairman. Seconded. Unanimous Motion: Nominate J Ryan as Secretary. Seconded.Unanimous • R Pawliczek discussed recent"gang of 8"meetings. BOS and SC attendees at the meetings are in agreement that there will need to be an override for Fiscal 2001. What are the expiration dates of contracts for long term budget planning?Discussed possible override of$ 3.5 million($3 million for operating and $ 500,000 for jump- starting a capital program). General discussion as to how the revenues will be split. Do the BOS have an explanation as to how they arrived at the $ 3.5 million? There have been cuts every year for the past 5 years by appropriating less than requested. Should the AC come up with an override number independently of the Town Manger and BOS? • General discussion of the upcoming joint meeting of the BOS and SC on Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at the Museum of Our National Heritage @ 8:15 a.m. • Discussed need to have some rational plan of overrides, whether they be operating or debt exclusions. • Assignments: BOS/Tn Mgr.- P Hamburger,A Nedzel TMMA-P Hamburger Capital-D.Brown, S Spector Schools-R Pawliczek, D Kessler Communication/Publicity-A Nedzel MMRVHS-? Appropriation Committee Report-D Kessler Recreation/Conservation-C Welch • Projects for the current fiscal year: (1)projections(long-term planning)P Hamburger, A Levine; (2) PILOT's A Levine; (3)Recreation Enterprise Fund, C Welch; (4) communication(publicity) • A Levine reported on SWAT Committee. Wish to pursue a"pay as you throw". Not a need to generate all trash disposals costs through this revenue source. Charge per bag will increase recycling. Need to change people's habits. • Meeting schedule: 9/16, 9/30, 10/14.10/28, 11/18, 12/2, 12/16. All meetings will be at 7:45 in Comptroller's Office. • MOTION: to adjourn Ac7.22.99
