* Present: P Lapointe, M Miley, M Mairson, J Pagett, R Colwell, R Leone, R Borghesani,
L Peck, J Ryan
* P Lapointe discussed Town Manager's gap resolutions dated April 19, 1996
* Application of "free cash" to solve problem along with Public Celebration and tax work
off program, paying for all snow & ice deficit as well as "3 for 1"school contract will leave
less than $ 276,000 in " free cash"
* School Department is apparently willing to cut $ 170,00 not $ 340,000
* BOS working on alternatives to Lexpress such as public safety equipment purchase and
ambulance service
* P Lapointe discussed the possibility of saving $ 50,000 by eliminating the desk officer and
well as pulling the pumper off line and saving overtime
* General discussion of raising parking fees, lexpress fees, recreation fees as well as PILOT
program
* R Borghesani expressed need to work within 2 1/2 % increase for salaries since salaries
make up approx 85% of budget
