Halverson discussed problem of attracting and retaining lifeguards - long-term problem -- no real, creative solution - no apparent attraction to be a lifeguard - college starts early also M. O'Sullivan - Article 31-no funding available - Article 32-Town Manager submitted will need $5,000 more ($27,000) - Article 33-Town Manager submitted - Phase II on Lincoln Street $180,000 $100,000 all-purpose soccer (of three phases) $ 80,000 softball - ranking of priorities shortchanged Recreation last year - increase in fees without losing interest J. Halverson - no noticeable decline in usage with declining enrollment - Recreation Committee may bring Article 31 to Town Meeting floor Library - Bob Hilton, Stella Liu Robert Hilton - $100,000 Article - shelving, HVAC problems, carpeting replacement, fire safety upgrading (some smoke detectors and sprinklers) - architectural fees from Town Manager's professional services - computer -- extend service to public - no current need for memory DPW - Frank Fields, Richard Spiers - R.
