Roy [MDR] (Vice Chair), Stephanie Hsu [SH] (Clerk), Christina Lin [CL], Larry Freeman [LF], Melissa Interess [MI] (Town Manager's Office Member/Human Services Department), Chris Barry [CB] (Police Department), Cleveland Coates [CC], Scott Bokun [SB] (School Committee Member) Meeting called to order at 8:30 AM, Quorum was present at 8:30 AM 1. Welcome 2. Minutes— MI moved to approve the November 18, 2021 minutes; LF seconded; Approved unanimously 3. No Hate November Update—We decided to extend the time for service hours to January 2, to give students more time to respond. There has been a good response and we hope for more over the break. 4. Workgroups: a. Impact of COVID on Persons with Disabilities—The workgroup met with Kate DeAngelis,Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for the Recreation Center this week to learn about her experiences working/programing for persons of disabilities through the pandemic (all ages). She is encouraging of our work and will join our team as to consult and guide. We will create a list of contacts that include group homes here in Lexington, developing a resource list that can be available on a variety of town pages, and deciding on the best outreach for gathering stories (including a short qualitative survey, a series of focus groups, providing "office hours" so people can reach out individually, and using the LexDEI Inbox). b. MLK Community Conversation on Race—CL—Will take place virtually January 17, 2022 from 10am-12pm. Speakers are being finalized and the flyer should be ready soon. 5. Updates from Members - Members gave updates on recent activities including the LPD investigating an incident in October that has led to charges that include civil rights charges; updates on the work of the Citizens Input Taskforce, CPAC, Climate Action Plan working group, and the Mental Health Task Force. 6. Unexpected Items Not Reasonably Anticipated in Advance— Logo will be on agenda in next couple months. 7.
