(Absent: Glen Bassett, Julie Miller.) Subcommittee Members (15): Present: Yifang Gong, Sue Sterling, Mary Hutton, Samita Mandelia. (Absent: Aneesha Karody, Ashley Rooney, Wayne Miller, Rita Pandey, Sam Zales.) 6 vacancies. Guests: None. 7:01 PM: Meeting called to order by Chair Geetha. 7:04 PM: January 12, 2022 Minutes approved. MLK Day Recap - Linda attended the Zoom early speeches and breakfast group. She will follow-up with two Black town participants who might be interested in joining this committee. - Lorain watched the afternoon program and enjoyed it. - Geetha also was impressed with the proceedings. Patriots Day Parade (April 18, 2022) - Select Board has approved a full, traditional Parade this year with full attendant ceremonies: 7:30 am Sunrise Youth Parade; 8:15 am Battle Green Ceremonies, and 2:00 pm Parade. A Stakeholders Meeting of all Town Departments will be held on February 10. New members will include the White Cane Awards, Youth Commission, and Lexington Historial Society. - Geetha handed out digitally a full Timeline Chart of all the component parts TCC is responsible for and assigned members to the various categories. - Parade Units: a separate spreadsheet will be kept for all unit attendees. - Sponsorship Letters will be emailed to all past sponsors by February 14. - COVID guidelines will await getting closer to the events. Brainstorming about the Parade - Steve lamented that the afternoon Parade was getting worse and worse every year with compe- tition from the Boston Marathon and the fact that Patriots Day is no longer even an official public holiday. He feels the floats need to be upgraded; more activities should focus on the children. - Linda feels we need to recognize the First Responders, Teachers, and all who had to be at work in public during the Pandemic. Perhaps an LHS/Minuteman Tech float could do this. - Mary reminded us thatjust before the Sunday (preceding Patriots Day), there's a Reenactment at the Bandstand where a short concert might be held. Might feature the Colonial Williamsburg Marching Band and/or the William Diamond Fife & Drum Corps. In the past the Minutemen have objected because of the close timing of events. 8:55 PM: Meeting Adjourned. Next Meeting: February 9, 2022. Respectfully submitted, Gresh Lattimore, Secretary
