Look for new storm drain markers in Lexington
Center, installed by Watershed Stewardship
volunteers. Storm drain markers alert us to the
connection between storm drains and the
health of local streams. Water that drains
from Lexington Center enters storm drains that
empty into Vine Brook, Lexington’s largest
stream. Pollutants picked up by run-off or
dumped into storm drains go directly to Vine
Brook, too. You can help to protect Vine Brook
by properly disposing of pet waste, paint,
detergent, oil, and other pollutants that could
otherwise enter a storm drain.
