Officers' reports:
Co-Chairs: —intro to LexSepta and Sepac
• Role is to advise the school district on the needs of the special education community.
• Meet quarterly with Superintendent/DEI/Special Ed.to advocate for initiatives, not children for
example more inclusive summer programming, district wide programs, disability curriculum
• PTA side—works more like a normal PTA providing events, support groups led by parents which
meet monthly or bimonthly.
• Money we raise goes to fund speakers and events and staff appreciation. Membership is free,
though we appreciate donations

• Support groups are meeting in Oct.
• Key events—basic rights workshop—speaker from Federation on 11/11
• Battlegreen run fundraiser—we have a team and the goal is to surpass last year—we had 30
members.This year you can do it virtually or in person—you can walk—money is donated based
on participation not fundraising so just signing up helps
• Oct is dyslexia awareness month—Combining ADHD and Dyslexia—there will be a film festival
here at the Community Ctr. Under the tent. 2 short films and some student videos. Story walk at
all the Elementary schools and at Clarke and here and in Cary Library teen room. Listening
session with administration on 10/5 so parents can share their feedback.
