Public Comments: None Approval of November minutes with one correction Staff Reports: o Hemali Shah, Senior Services Director ■ Met with Selectboard, who were pleased about senior parking pass, asked what COA will next do; informed that COA is exploring home safety and other housing concerns • Julie-Ann will send out email to COA board to do calls to businesses o Michelle Kelleher, Senior Services Coordinator ■ In person and virtual programs ■ 11/30 theater program "Lizzie Borden" 26 attended ■ 12/16 holiday luncheon, 50 registered, wait list ■ Intergenerational Club monthly for seniors to meet with teens re: technology ■ Movies started again ■ Jan/Feb newsletter coming out • Christine Dean, Community Center Director Winter program registration starts 12/7 o Mini sessions 4 exercise classes on zoom until winter program mid- January; 2 in person classes, others on Zoom o Winter Pop-up for Winter Solstice 12/21 4-613M, all ages, registration required o Pine Meadow Golf Club closed for season but gift cards available for purchase 12/17, 18 o Utility box beautification on 4 boxes near playgrounds o Field House available 1/3-4/14 for drop in gym evening hours New Business John Z 0 Jim Malloy, town manager, will attend January COA meeting RECEIVED 022 12 Jain, &57 ain't TOWN CLERK • Looking for 1-2 new board members for COA LEXINGTON MA Liaison Reports Transportation-Sudhir Jain-Transportation Advisory Committee of 3 towns would like better communication w/COA; not in favor of a COA van; Buses 62 and 76 running jointly but separate this month; volume on LexConnect went from 20,000 to 5,000 riders; FCOA- Sudhir Jain- 5000 fundraising letters sent, current balance: $33,249; FCOA open to doing project w/COA Minuteman Senior Services-Bea Holland-is chair of committee to recruit and orient new board members, encouraged COA to consider volunteering for MMSS Commission on Disability-Bonnie Teitleman- 2 new commission members interviewed and engaged; presentation by Meredith Bergmann of her new sculpture in front of Visitor's Center, "Let's See Her", honoring contributions of Lexington women to history; update to COD on COA activities; review of Munroe Center architectural challenges by Cristina Burwell Human Services Committee-Betty Borghesani- no update Recreation Committee Julie Ann Shapiro checked agenda, did not attend, nothing relevant to COA Lexington Housing-Camille Goodwin no update Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee-Rich McDonough- no update; Rich's last meeting— he sent chat note to say goodbye. He did mention interest in 55+ housing of Attainable (renamed from Affordable) housing Vision for Lexington-Jyotsna Kakullavarapu- no update Housing Partnership-John Zhao- 2 articles for town meeting: #15 on open space preservation did not pass; #16 did pass, a requirement that homes which now have 2-6 parking spaces, a proposal to reduce that requirement to 1 space which would allow for smaller, more environmentally sound housing units to be built Mental Health Task Force-Ellen Cameron- no update Lexington Center Committee-Sandra Shaw-Taste of Lexington 12/2; new book store Maxima; Bus shelter being built; presentation on "Let's See Her" sculpture at Visitor's Center Citizen's Advisory Committee-Ellen Cameron- upcoming meeting 12/14 Next meeting of COA: January 5, 2022 2:30 -413M location TBD.
