Read and approved the October meeting minutes
- Debriefed the Balloon Hanging for Merchants Trick or Treating -we discussed what
went well at the balloon hanging, it went well, some of them flew away because it was
very windy- sometimes the plastic clasps did not hold well. Mr. Michaelson had Pizza for
us, and we worked efficiently with a great number of members participating.
Lexington Food Pantry Drive - Saturday, November 13th 12noon at C&W
Transportation.
- A reminder it is being collected this Saturday at 12
- We are going to meet at C&W starting at 12- check for dates, food group, item,
rebag and box them.
- Essentially we need all hands on deck
Veterans Day Parade, we decided that due to the car parade only we would skip it this
year. Deb reminded all of us that we should take care of ourselves on that day.
THANKSGIVING DINNER Delivery, Wednesday, November 24 at 2:30 pm
@ C&W Transportation, 240 Bedford Street
- We are working with the Rotary Club delivering 60 dinners to families in need around
Lexington.
- Those who can legally drive: Maddie, Regina?, Andrew, Skylar, Hobie, Ella,
Carolyn, Elena, Kennice, Sandy, Matthew, Ipek?, 011ie?, Camelia?, Marilyn? (15)
- Those interested in being passengers: Ana, Ella, Serena, Eva, Adeline, Nina,
Amelia, Hannah, Tasneem, Izzy, Charlie, Duncan, John (13).
* (?) denotes uncertain if can drive/participate.
The rules:
The houses we deliver to are highly confidential. We never share what houses we give them to or
discuss with anyone.
You should always be polite. If they refuse the box, you leave and take the dinner with you.
If they are not home, you can leave it outside their door
If they are in an apartment, try ringing in or ringing a neighbor to gain access to the building. If
you still cannot get in, call Shannon or Deb.
If you have any problems or concerns call Shannon or Deb.
Tree Light and Santa Arrival Friday. November 26 at 5:30 pm
- Mr Michaelson reached out to Deb asking if any LYC members might be interested in
working on the 11/26 Santa Claus event.
The following people will be participating: Ella L Xmas Tree, Elena Grinch, Nick Tall
Grinch,Ava T. Elf, Hannah Frosty, Hobie Gingerbread man, Izzy Elf, Maddie Elf,Amelia,
John, Ella T and Kennice
For anyone else who is interested and is available, come join us. We are not fundraising, we
are having fun, handing out Jingle Bells, and taking pictures with kids. If you do not want to
wear a costume, that is perfectly fine. I am thinking we will need some support guides for
our peeps in costumes.
We will be meeting at William Raveis 1713 Mass Avenue, near Marios. They have
graciously offered us their office to get dressed and ready. We will meet at 5:30pm, the event
kicks off at 6:00, Santa arrives at 6:30, and we should be done by 7:OOpm.
Lexinzton Children in Need
- All ticket stubs and $$s are due at our next meeting, Thursday, December 8th. We will
be pulling the winners and facetime them.
- For our raffle we are doing 2 $500 drawings. Each person is receiving 13 tickets
to sell for $10 each. These are due our next meeting (December 12/9)
- We will accept venmo (@shannon-deguglielmo), cash or check(payable to
Lexington Youth Commission)
Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 17th
- Cradles to Crayons -unfortunately they only offered us 13 spots out of the 25 we
requested. We chose not to participate with only '/z being able to attend.
- After some discussion we thought we would like to participate in the MLK Day, Regina
is contacting her friend who is running it. She will report back at the next meeting with
options to participate in the Lexington MLK events.
- Regina mentioned that her neighbor runs the MLK thing on MLK day so if we reach out
to him we might be able to find opportunities.
- Nina Arnold suggested a Coat Drive, and need to chat more about this at the December
meeting.
Our next meeting is at LHS Library Media Center on Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 pm
