2' Select Board Goal Setting Meeting Update
Betty gave an update of the Open Forum, Kevin and Ram had attended this as
well. Town hired Consulting Firm - structured format. Goal was for all Town
committees to ask for the current status of Lexington vision and
Sustainability goals and ideas to improve,
3. Liaison Reports
3.1. DPW - Ross Morrow
• Centerscape
• Utility poles-Mass Ave and Worthen
• Discussion Followed:
o Jim-Any Improvements? Ross-Hartwell is a long way out.
What is happening sooner is-Striping-waltham St, South of
Rte2 in 2022 + Adding bike lanes at waltham town lane.
Still in Design phase
o Simon - Suggested having a Water station at arlington-
side. One near DPW is good. One near Arlington-side near
Trader Joe's/Bow Street. Ram will raise with FOLB. Simon
said he could organize donations. Betty-Depot Water
Station was funded by FOLB. Ram to talk to Peggy.
o Betty-Waltham St bike lane- Is it std bike lane or does
it have buffers like what DOT did. Ross will share plans,
when available. Ross-Bike paths will be on both sides,
most probably.
3.2. Police - Alex Hagenah
• Not able to make it

• Some links sent out - for Rte2A bridge. Hearing earlier today.
No one from LBAC was able to attend.

• Bedford and Hartwell - Complete Streets presentation on Oct 19.
Consultants to present. Looking for people to chime in. Ross-
This includes- Bedford St, Hartwell Ave, Eldred, Wood, Maguire
and Westview, as well. LBAC should attend. Survey results will
be presented. Full Design/25% Design-2 years from now. Should
talk about Separated bike lanes. Also, there is a website and
add comments. Matthias may attend, someone suggested (as it
affects Lincoln Labs)
• Rte 2A resurfacing - West of Rte 128 to Lincoln/Concord.
Richard Canale (BattleRoad project) had said more than repaving
should be done. But for now, only, couple of medians. Maybe
after 2025 changes can happen.
3.4. TSG - Ram (Ross and Susan also attended the last meeting)
• Presentation of Artistic Calming that other towns had done
) . Suggestion was for Kendall
(between Marrett and Waltham) . Ross-May not be a good location,
Reason-Impede Emergency Services and Snow Plowing' Ross- For
Kendall - Can try Temporary Barriers (stuff that was obtained
for Shade Street?) . Ross - If there are better streets for
this/ we can try a Pilot,
• MM Bikeway / Seasons Four - Ross/DPW will take care of it
• Jim - Alt Design group - Traffic Calming - Removable barriers
Update on Transportation by Susan Barrett
• Ped and Bike Transportation Plan in Last meeting - Talked about
Regionalization' Challenges. Effectively and sustainably - build
transit infra. MassDOT funded,
• Bike related programming - Bike Rodeo with Betty and Jim' Was a
Success'
• Lex - Lex Lights The Night (Grab & Go) - Event Date: Thursday/
October 2I/ 2021 - 3:88pm to 6:88pm - Lights customize bags. 688

Community-wide effort, How to spread the word especially as some
parents feel the town is not doing much for walking and biking. Jim -
Lot of good stuff happening. Should petition the Town,
4, Bike/Ped Plan Update
4.1. Sub-committee to report on Bike/Ped plan
• Betty - sent out DRAFT plan - created sub-committee for plan- Jim,
Ram and Betty. Help from others and a template from Greenways
corridor was used. Formalize a Letter from LBA[ to the Select Board'
• Jim - Suggested using more inclusive language (including
Pedestrians) / but OK for now. He has a Petition-Bike Transportation
Plan, George is OK, Mike T-Letter is OK. Send it out now.
• A motion was made to send a letter to the Select Board. The
motion passed unanimously.

• Student Liaison - George - regular attendance.
• Simon thinks it is Jesse/Takeda who volunteered. Simon to provide
info.

3. Bedford is interested in getting together for a Lite Up the Night event on
the Bikeway in November. To Be confirmed
