This Conservation Commission meeting was held remotely via Zoom, an online meeting
platform. Public Participation via calling in or using your computer was encouraged and a
recording will be available through LexMedia as soon as possible after the meeting.

475 Bedford Street— informal discussion on conceptual plan for new development
Mr. Ed Nardi, Cresset Development, Ms. Laura Laich, VHB, and Mr. Chris Nowak, VHB,
presented the informal proposal to rezone the lot and redevelop it as a lab building with a parking
garage. Members of the Commission provided feedback to Cresset Development and VHB,
including: invasive species in the proposed replication area, creating a larger parking garage to
hold more spaces,potential shading impacts to existing and proposed wetlands, and stormwater
standards.

15 Volunteer Way-update on expansion of work limit and changes to the site within the 100-foot
buffer zone
On a motion by Mr. Beuttell and seconded by Ms. Ladd, the Commission voted 6-0 by roll call
vote to issue an enforcement order in accordance with the revised restoration plan for stormwater
management and buffer zone restoration.

Mr. Matthew Weisman, Lexington Engineering,presented a dewatering plan and an update on
the construction schedule. The September 30, 2021 completion date is not feasible due to Covid-
19 related material delays and the project team is removing the existing pipe this week and also
grading and building the channel.
On a motion by Ms. Ladd and seconded by Ms. Dohan, the Commission voted 6-0 by roll call
vote to issue the Insignificant Plan Change.

The Commission discussed the growth of knotweed and planting on the stone slope. The
Commission requests that the applicant present a vegetation plan to remove the invasive species
and prevent recolonization. It was stated that moving the retaining wall would cause more
damage to the wetland.

Ms. Mullins confirmed that the areas as described in the certificate request are in compliance.
It was noted in the application that two thirds of the restoration plantings appeared to be thriving.

An update was provided on the meadow preservation and Wright Farm capital funding request.
The Idylwilde Community Garden is looking for a garden coordinator for the 2022 season. The
current coordinator who has volunteered for 8 years is stepping down.
