This July 8, 2021 meeting beginning about 8:30 am was held pursuant to Chapter 20 of

including an extension of the remote meeting provisions of Governor Baker's March 12,
2020 order.

John Livsey gave the DPW/Streetscape update: Streetscape Project is now working on
drainage and water work/sidewalk work beginning at easterly end near Cary Hall and
Library and Santander Bank. The website continues to be updated and the interactive
map is up and working. No mass tree clearing, trees will go out in stages. Discovery
Day is likely to be on Columbus Day weekend. No full closure of Mass Ave is
anticipated this season.
The pop up that was in the Goodfeet space in December, 2019 is coming to the old
Revolve space. There will be a Bubble Tea establishment in the Firefly Moon space. Ride
Studio is not renewing its lease. A specialty store is going in here.
Grain Mill Alley is on track.
The new 20 mph speed limit signs have been installed.
Sandhya discussed Pay By Phone as an alternative preferred by the Select Board to
kiosks. There will be a pilot project in the parking lots beginning on August 1. Parking
will be enforced beginning on August 1. Pam Shadley inquired about the duration of
the parking passes. Jerry asked "is Pay by Phone a parking management system or
parking payment system?" Jerry noted that the current meter system gives us a lot of
statistical information. There was a lively discussion of the merits of pay by phone.
Doug Lucente described the Select Board's thinking on this issue.
Howard told us that he would be moving to Vermont this fall and expressed his
disappointment with the Select Board's approval of the Senior Parking Program.
Pam Lyons indicated that, arising out of an initiative of the Transportation Advisory
Committee to take meaningful steps to support riders of the META (such as placing bus
shelters at the 5 or so busiest stops in Lexington) she would be pursuing a bus shelter in
Depot Square. Pam acknowledged the atrocious timing with regard to the Streetscape
Project and her own culpability in this. Joe Pato suggested that she go to the Select
Board and then the HDC with this proposal.
