New Building in Center
Charlie Hagenah gave an up date on the plans for the new building.
Charlie, along with the owner , presented a preliminary sketch and plans
to the Historic Districts Comm. on Jan. 28. At this time plans call for a
two story building with parking in the basement. Restaurant and retail
stores to occupy first floor, services (Ins. etc. ) on second • Ipe walk
through bldg from Mass. Ave to parking in back. Historic&r Vie; ' and
L.C.C. members who have seen plans are generally in favor. More detail
plans will be presented at future meetings.
Police Booth
In general L.C.C. approves the design and scale of proposed police
booth, but recommends a 3 ft. set back, both for safety and to enable the
officer to stand in front to direct traffic. We also suggest either a
dutch door or opening window in front for quick egress and response to
inquiries.
Drive Way at 1775 and Bay Bank (see Bob Hutchinson Memo 2/4/87)
L.C.C. approved the alternate proposal "A. Make driveway one way etc. "
with appropriate signs for cars and pedestrians.
Will review in one year on the workability of proposal .
Sprinkler Systems
Bob thinks system now in force is acceptable.
