BOARD OF REGISTRARS
June 25, 2020
The meeting of the Board of Registrars was called to order at 3:00 p.m. Thursday,
June 25, 2020 via remote participation in accordance with Governor Baker's Executive Order
of March 12, 2020, which imposed a State of Emergency due to the outbreak of the 2019
novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19. Present: Registrars, Gordon Jones, Chair, Judy
Moore, Mark Vitunic, Town Clerk, Nathalie Rice and Dianne Sperber, Assistant Town Clerk
and facilitator for the meeting.
Election of Chair:
MOTION: That Gordon Jones be appointed as Chair of the Board of Registrars for
the upcoming 2020-2021 year.
Motion approved. Mr. Jones abstained from the vote.
Approval of Assistant Registrars and Signature Stamp Authorizations:
MOTION: That the following staff of the Town Clerk's Office be designated as
Assistant Registrars: Dianne Sperber, Lisa Maguire, Kelley Cutone-Clair and Gina
Carme and that use of the Board of Registrar signature stamp with the names of Gordon
M. Jones III, Judy E. Moore, Mark R. Vitunic and Nathalie L. Rice be approved for the
purposes of certification of petitions, nominations, and attestations.
Motion approved.
Review and Recommend 2020-2021 Election Officer Appointments:
MOTION. That the Board review the List of 223 Election Officers for the 2020-2021
year, endorse and forward the list to the Board of Selectmen for appointment.
Motion approved.
Approval of Minutes:
MOTION: To approve the minutes from the Board of Registrars Meeting of June 27,
2019. Motion approved.
Discussion of Upcoming Elections and Use of Poll Pads for early Voting:
Ms. Rice updated the Board on the remaining 2020 Election season. She stated that Poll
Pads, a tablet on which the voter list is uploaded each day, would be used for Early
Voting for the State Primary Election on September 3, 2020 and the General Election on
November 3, 2020. She explained the process for Mail-In Voting as proposed by the
State and measures undertaken by the Clerk's Office for successful elections in the fall.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
