PROCLAMATION
Whereas: Harriet Fels Price, known to her friends and family as "Hattie", celebrated her 1 Q 1 St
birthday on June 5, 2Q21; and
Whereas: Hattie was born in upstate New York,and at the end of World War II,married William
"Bill"Carl Fels. The couple resided in New Yark and Vermont to support Bill's career in
academia,enjaying coliege campus life at Caoper Union, Columbia University and
Bennington Coliege, where he was appointed President; and
Whereas: the couple raised two children - Tom and Ana. Upon Bill's death, Hattie attended and
graduated from Goddard, and subsequently worked at Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges.
She married Don Price, a Harvard prafessor in 1971 and cantinued to take in classes,
concerts, lectures, work with a number of volunteer groups and make trips abroad. �ver
much of her life she alsa pursued art in various forms; and
Whereas: Hattie has been calling the Tawn of Lexingtan home since July 10,2002; and
Whereas: Hattie remains in touch with friends and family,enjoys music,baoks and palitics.
