Tonight's meeting will be primarily focused on the review of the 2016 grant applications received by the
Council
1. Pre - Meeting Tasks
a. Review of handouts & minutes
b. Attendance:
• Present: Diana South, Cristina Burwell, Lynne Klemmer, Seetha Ramnath, Jean Hart,
Emily Passman, Cheryl Meadow, Jessie Steigerwald, Susan Hammond.
• Absent: Leslie Mason

2. REPORTS

b. Approval of previous meeting's minutes
• Motion by Jessie to approve minutes, Seconded by Cristina
c. Chairperson's Report
• Membership: Faith Lin. We are awaiting approval from the Board of Selectmen so Faith
will be excused from voting in this session's Grant Review.
• General comments about Grant guidelines - several members noted the need for a
general timeline to receive funds following grant approval for a given year (specific to #17:
Lawn Sign in 2015 -16 submissions). Also need to confirm a singular vision for this project
based on prior year's experience.

• Total funds for 2016 granting
• $5,085 to Grant this year ($4800, $525 not claimed last year, —$200 for admin
expenses)

• Review of 2016 grant applications (select applications listed below)
Members reviewed grant applications for disapproval letters, and elected to deny the
following 4 applicants because of limited public benefit: Contemporary Arts stone carving,
New Rep Theatre, Henry Lappin /trees; and Wood Jazz Trio because no venue had been
identified. Letters will go out ASAP to allow for the awarding of grant monies at the
December meeting.
