ACROSS Lexington is a Board of Selectmen- approved system of marked pedestrian and bicycle routes being developed throughout the Town of Lexington to connect town -owned Conservation, Recreation, Open Space, Schools and Streets. Four routes totaling 17 miles have been created to date; a flyer describing the ACROSS Lexington project is enclosed. The route being planned through the Freemont Street neighborhood will connect the Minuteman Bikeway with the Battle Road Trail in the Minuteman National Historical Park. The planning for this route will include the opportunity to develop a walking trail through the currently inaccessible town -owned Freemont Street Play Area. We have scheduled a public meeting to review plans for this route with the neighborhood and to invite comments. The meeting will be held at 7 pm on October 27 in the Parker Room, Lower Level, Town Hall, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue. We have marked the proposed path through the Freemont Street Play Area with orange flagging tape. The two public access points to the Play Area are located between Nos. 53 and 59 Freemont Street on a strip of town property and via a recorded easement crossing the left corner of the property at 2 Martingale. We invite you to walk the proposed route if you are planning to attend the public meeting. If you do so, please be aware that this is not an improved trail and may include trip hazards. If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to communicate with us, please write to the Greenways Corridor Committee c/o Lynne Pease, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, or by email to .yaj, fIf,,,gtr r xy, Keith Ohmart, Chair 1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 greenwaycc@lexingtonma.gov ACROSS -ton Route E sh w going throua Freemont Street PIS Text Frb or; °rat &feet Play Area, Text
