Meeting Minutes
1 Attending. Elaine Celi,Judy Crocker, MaryEllen Dunn, Sharon Kendall, Craig Weeks

2 Meeting minutes for June 6 and 21 were accepted as amended.
3 Update on Bus Registration
More than 2600 students are presently registered for the bus for FY14 This is well
above the same number of students at this time last year
The question on the status of individual school bus captains was raised and an ad
for a Newton bus monitor was presented. There was no additional information
available.
4 WorldTech Consultant Preliminary Report
The Committee discussed at length the proposals for each school and the
overarching objectives included in the preliminary report. This feedback will be
compiled into a report and will be submitted to Ms Dunn. She is also requesting
comments from school principals and administration. See the addendum attached.
5 Education of Traffic Policy and School Committee Policy Update
Due to the lateness in receiving the WorldTech Report, LPS transportation policy is
a work-in-progress
6 New Business
Drafts of potential tax bill inserts were briefly discussed. Ms Celi and Ms Crocker
will continue working on their design but the Committee agreed on their content.
In order to be ready for the September tax bill,the Selectmen must first approve
their content in late August/early September
Committee edits have been received for the "illegal passing of school bus displaying
its flashing lights" offender form letter The next step is to receive police and School
Committee approval.
The annual Committee Town Report is due next month.
Our next meeting will be TBD if needed before the next scheduled Sept 12 meeting
in the Conference Room at Central Administration.
