Request: 4 Way Stop Liberty at Hamilton
Petitioner: Richard J. Eaton
9 Hamilton Road
Lexington, MA 02420
Reason for Request:
Cars speed on Hamilton through the Liberty Ave. intersection and there are many children in the
neighborhood. There is currently a Stop sign on Liberty Avenue. A stop sign on Hamilton Road
would slow vehicles through the intersection.
Recommendation:
No action at this time.
Reason for Recommendation:
State regulations prohibit the use of Stop signs as a means of speed control. The regulations also
narrowly define the conditions under which four way stops can be used. This intersections does
not meet those conditions.
Request: Speeding Traffic Bryant Road
Petitioner: Helen Groudreau
20 Bryant Road
Lexington, MA 02421.
Reason for Request:
Cars use Bryant Road as a cut - through to avoid the light at Lowell and Maple — particularly
employees of the nursing facility. The residents request Caution Children signage and access
restrictions be considered on the street to make it safer for children.
Recommendation: Caution Children signage in both directions on Bryant Road.
