Wildlife Crossing Sign Petitioner: Carmen Mandel 27 Whipple Road Lexington, MA Reason for Request: Limited sight lines and excessive speed for cut - through traffic from Lowell St. to Winchester Drive. Recommendation: Curve sign with 20 MPH advisory in front of #21 Whipple Road. Request: Restore Edge Line on Waltham Street from Waltham Line to Concord St. Intersection Petitioner: Nancy and Nicholas Canalonga 942 Waltham Street Lexington, MA 02420 Reason for Request: There was an edge line on this section of Waltham Street which was not restored when the MWRA repaved the street after water work. The resulting unrestricted four lane travel patters on this section of Waltham Street make it difficult to cross the street and get out of driveways. Recommendation: Restore white edge line 4' off curb terminating far enough back from the Concord Avenue intersection to allow two lane configuration at the intersection. Request: Bow Street Traffic Petitioner: Mr. & Mrs. Peter Steinkrauss 111 Bow Street Lexington, MA Reason for Request: Cut through traffic travels too quickly on this street creating hazards for the neighborhood children. Discussion and Recommendations: Continued at request of petitioner. Request: Curve Street Caution Children Signs Petitioner: Patrick and Martina Hunt 85 Curve Street Lexington, MA Reason for Request: Traffic using Curve Street at a turn around for businesses on Mass. Ave. travel too fast on this narrow street with sharp curves. Residents have put their own signs out but they have been stolen repeatedly. Discussion and Recommendation: Install 2 Caution Children signs on Curve Street at each Mass. Ave. entrance. Request: Shade Street Blind Driveway Petitioner: Gambino Franchesco 85 Shade Street Lexington, MA Reason for Request: The winding geometry of Shade Street makes the driveway at #85 invisible to vehicles on Shade St. and dangerous to cars exiting the driveway. Discussion and Recommendation: Continued.
