The following summarizes the discussion. Bentley College Conference ➢ Gail discussed the conference she attended on May 10th at Bentley College. It was very informative and she took away ideas to think about as we go forward with transportation issues. ➢ Parking should be priced for demand (Do not build to parking!) ➢ Planning has to look at transportation. Recommend shared parking. Walkable Communities ➢ Gail said that the first meeting with a small group would be sometime in June. ➢ Gail suggested the following people be included in the small group meeting: Jerry VanHook, Bicycle and Sidewalk Committees, Richard Canale, Planning Board, Dave Cannon, Engineering Department and Gail as the event organizer. ➢ TMG agreed with these selections. Concord Avenue ➢ Eve gave an update on the issue. There is still no word from AvalonBay as to their intentions. David George, the Town's Zoning Administrator will follow up with the company on this issue and will keep TMG informed. Massachusetts Avenue and Maple Street Intersection ➢ Richard described how CTPS chose the intersection. ➢ He spoke to the Planner doing the study about the scope of the project. ➢ Recommended improvements would have to be done by the Town. There is no money attached to the study for improvements. ➢ The group discussed the problems with the intersection now and possible solutions. Hartwell Avenue Study ➢ Dave gave an update on the project. ➢ The consultant has collected the data and will begin crunching the numbers soon. Updates State Bike Plan ➢ Richard talked about the recently published state bike plan. ➢ It proposes that the Minuteman Trail connect via Mass. Ave. and wanted to know how the Town feels about this? ➢ Jeanne asked if we could get the Western Greenway into the plan. ➢ Richard noted that the plans are updated every 5 years. Technology Park ➢ Elaine wanted to know if we can have any input on carpooling, ridesharing etc. other than what is in the Patriot Partners rezoning. ➢ Gail said that the problem is that we don't get to talk to the tenants; we deal with the Management companies that agree to the requirements initially. TMG Membership • Maura Sheehan, a member of the Board of Appeals, will be attending TMG meetings in place of Judith Urhig. ➢ Eve Tapper will be leaving the Town of Lexington Planning Department to work for the City of Newton , where she lives. Her last day with the Town is June 7 (before the next TMG meeting). Next Meetings ➢ Tuesday, June 12, 2007 ➢ Tuesday, June 26, 2007 Minutes submitted by Eve Tapper, Planner, on June 4, 2007
