Town of Lexington Appropriation Committee(AC)
March30,2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:00p.m.
Announcements:
1.Mr. Parker reported thatthe Ad hoc Community Center Advisory
Committee metearlier in the day. A June Lexington Community Center (LCC) opening date for
current Recreation Department and Human Services programs is anticipated. There will be one
“umbrella” for all the programs. The Town has opened three new positions associatedwith the LCC;
one is expected to be filled by an internal candidate who should be able toget uptospeed quickly.
The other two positions are being advertised internally and externally.

2.A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes for March 12, March 19
and March 23, with edits as discussed. The motion passed. VOTE: 8-0
Parking Fund:
3.It was noted that there is State legislationthat governs the Town’s Parking
Fund. Income includes parking meter revenue; it does not include parking fines. Theincome isused
to maintain the parking metersand some parking-related pavement, enforce parking regulations, and
pay for a portion of Lexington Center traffic control expenses.Income exceeds expenses by $30,000-
$60,000 annually, and the fund currently has a balance of approximately $600,000.
