The committee approved the Patriot's Day/Weekend Schedule. * Lorain began by tying up some loose ends. Wayne will double check on the status of the VA and if they will be included in the parade. Wayne took a blank application in case it is needed. *Lorain led a discussion about whether or not the "Acceptance "letter should have language that states that groups who attend should have as many people in the parade as was stated in the application. Group felt this should be further researched and a change should be made that states this in the initial letter. *Geetha spoke about the Dance Around the World celebration. October 25th is a possible date. Rich recommended that Geetha speak to Sophia Ho from the CAAL group for any help in planning. By the next meeting Geetha will have something more definite to tell the TCC. *Lorain brought up the topic of increasing the number of storefronts that will have bunting displayed for the parade. Letters were distributed to members to distribute and even extend a personal invitation to do this. The letter will include a schedule of the weekend events. *Lorain was contacted by the Youth Commission. They asked permission to pass out flags along the parade route at the morning parade. *Carol Flynn and Cerise Jalelian will coordinate the Girl and Boy Scouts for the Morning Parade. Copies of the Promise, Law & Oath are needed for the program. *Peter Kelly is the liaison for the Lexington Youth Commission. Barry Cunha will hand out the Cecil Harris Award. *Linda will talk to the Rev. Brent from St. Paul Evangelical Church about a flyer that asks people from his church to attend a prayer service at the morning celebration. Linda will clarify that this isn't a prayer service but open the ceremony with a prayer. * Sharon Spaulding will need a list of invited guests for seating on the reviewing stand. * Lorain researched the Roma Band application, which was received late. The group felt that since the budget was tight and they applied late the TCC would pass on it this year and encourage them to apply next year. * Several "No Fee" applications were approved by the TCC. The Lexington Education Foundation, The Liberty Ride and Michelson's Shoes were approved for participation in the parade. * Sondra had a conversation with the Shriners about the various units that they wanted to have in the parade. The TCC voted to only have the clown unit in this year's parade. The TCC will negotiate adding other units for next year's parade. Sondra will also contact Mahoney's and The Children's Center about their applications. * Judges for the float contest are: Laura Hopkins from Season's Four, Joe Rancatore and either Colin Smith or Bill Hubner. * Either Susan O'Keefe and Sam Doran or Eric Michelson will announce the parade and the winner of the float contest. *Paul will give Sondra the award signs. *Linda informed the group about the status of the Parade Ambassadors. She has advertised in all local papers and electronic sites for the town and high school. Kids who do this will get Community Service hours, a "T" shirt and coupon from Rancatore's Ice Cream Parlor. Other Business * Charlie accepted checks for jackets and everyone gave Charlie their size. * The minutes from the 3/11/15 meeting were approved. * Group discussed how to demonstrate gratitude for sponsor’s commitment. Linda will send members a list of past sponsors. Lorain will then e-mail letter. No business can be a sponsor if they have a liquor license, but they could make a donation. * Mary's party……Being planned for a night after the parade at Sondra's house.
