SuzieBarryreportedthatCAAL,theChineseAmericanAssociationofLexington,issponsoringa specialculturaleventonSaturday,January24.Theafternoonportion,from1:00to3:00atCary Library,includesarts&crafts,food,music,andadragonparade.From7:00to9:00therewillbe displaysofChinesesonganddanceintheLexingtonHighSchoolauditorium.CAALhasasked forthe"µ³³¯ºº««ȟ¹support. MartinLutherKingDay,Monday,January19,2015 SamZalesupdatedtheCommitteeonthefinalprogramfortheday,whichhastransitionedfrom adayofspeechestoanactionorienteddayofhelpingtheunderprivileged.Volunteersare expectedtotoplast¿«§¸ȟ¹250.GraceChapelwillbethebaseofoperations.Activitiesincludea CommunityDayattheWalthamYMCAfor300membersofhomelessfamilieslivinginarea hotels;designingandcreating1,000cardsforveterans;visitingwithseniorsoverlunchat +«¾¯´­ºµ´ȟ¹threeseniorhousingcommunities;andparticipatinginfoodandclothingdrives. JointConcord/Bedford/Lexingtoneventscalendar:TheCommitteehasbeenaskedaboutthe possibilityofproducingajointeventscalendarincorporatingPatriotsWeekendeventsin Lexington,ConcordandBedford.Sincethiswouldinvolveextracostupto$1,000,the Committeefeltthat,ifthiscostcouldbebornebyaninterestedgroup(forexample,theChamber ofCommerce),wewouldgladlyjointheproject. StatusofApplications:Applicationshavebeenemailedtoallcandidatesforthe2015parade. OldGuardParticipation:TheOldGuardwantstodoaspecialperformanceontheBattleGreenon Saturday,April18andtomarchintheparadeonMonday,April20.Lastyear,theRotaryClub sponsoredacomplimentarylunchforthemonSaturday,hostedatBrookhaven.TheCommittee willseeiftheRotaryClubiswillingtodothisagain.PaperworkmustbesubmittedtotheBoard ofSelectmenbeforetheOld&»§¸ªȟ¹participationisconfirmed.
