Sustainable Lexington Committee
Minutes of Meeting of February 3, 2015
A meeting of the Sustainable Lexington Committee(SLC) was held on February 3, 2015
at the Hadley Building. A quorum of four was present.
Members Present: Mark Sandeen, Chair
Marcia Gens, Rick Reibstein, Todd Rhodes
Members Absent: Sheryl Rosner, Dan Voss
Other Attendees: None
The meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm.
Community Choice Aggregation (M. Sandeen)
• The committee reviewed the language in the Community Choice Aggregation warrant
article that will be presented at Town Meeting.
• The committee agreed that the motion should emphasize both"cheaper and cleaner"
energy and"freedom of choice".
• There will need to be a presentation at Town Meeting and a public information
session prior to Town Meeting.
• The committee voted unanimously to support Community Choice Aggregation.
Fossil Fuel Divestment(M. Sandeen)
• Mr. Sandeen presented a draft resolution that will go before Town Meeting to
encourage the Town to divest of its holdings in fossil fuel companies.
• The committee voted unanimously to endorse the "Town of Lexington Resolution on
Fossil Fuel Divestment" DRAFT 1/26/2015.
Sustainability/Climate Plan (M. Sandeen)
• Ms. Sandeen suggested that future meetings be organized so that committee members
can report on activities in each of the defined plan sectors.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm
