Dear Mr Wood,
At the November 6, 2014 meeting of the Commission on Disability, we
discussed the building known as Harrington Park, located at 394 Lowell Street,
Lexington. This building initially came to our attention when a variance was
requested for a second floor bathroom in one of the condominiums As a
Commission, we remain concerned that the entire complex is not accessible We
would like to see a plan of how to make the entire complex accessible in terms of
second floors and entryways
You have indicated in your response to me that the Board of Trustees is
planning to discuss the accessibility at their annual meeting on May 5, 2015 The
Commission accepts this proposal provided that you summarize the results of that
discussion in a written plan submitted to us by June 1, 2015
We also would like to know in writing by January 1, 2015, the intentions of
the new owners of the second floor condominium (RDTEU - Research,
Development & Tech Employees Union) for usage of the space, especially
concerning whether they intend to run public meetings or public services there
Thank your for your assistance in this matter
Sincerely,
Victoria Buckley
