1.The Meeting Minutes from the November 13, 2014 meeting were approved by the
commission.
2.Next we collected money for the Candy Drive. People who still need to hand this in are:
James, Chris, Nic, Lee, Ashley, Ben and Ryan. GET THE MONEY TO DEB no
later than Sunday, January 4th, her address is 294 Lowell Street, Lexington.
3.The Turkey Dinner Drive was very successful. Most people opened their doors. Social
Services communicated very well with the people receiving the dinners. Everyone that
committed to be there to drive and deliver were, thank you, you made a difference.
4.Next we discussed the holiday fundraising. The Friday night tree lighting was sparse due
to the different date and time. We raised $429 that night. The Lexington Symphony
concert was extremely successful. We raised $200 in 30 minutes. We will try to do this
again in the future. Filling in the fundraising spots for Sunoco, Ace and Cumberland was
a little slow and we hope to have more willing participants in the future. Lee had an idea
for a fundraising dinner next year; running a spaghetti dinner, with an acapella group for
entertainment. We should look into this!
5.We finished the meeting discussing 2015 dates and activities. Please note and come
prepared to the January 8th meeting with a float design and/or theme for Patriots Day
Parade, which is Monday, April 20th this year. Also we are looking to participate in the
Valentine Luncheon at the Senior Center which is Thursday, February 12th at noon. In
March we will be going to the Cotting School to work on an activity with the students
there, and collect books for their internet sales. April is parade month, and we finish up
with a Spring Island Clean up, Senior sendoff Pizza Party early in May.
The final four meetings will be held at the LHS Commons II, at 7:00 pm, January 8, February 12,
March 12, April 9.
Respectfully Submitted,
