Lexington Youth Commission
Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at LHS Commons II
Members Present:
Debbie Hankins, Doug Lucente, Joey Hankins, Sean Maloney, Janelle
Franklin, Vanessa Savage, Mark Solomon, Andrea Michelson, Ben Leibskind, Elizabeth Coons,
Annie Douvas, Tommy Barry, John Mullen, Ilise Martel, Shaun McLaughlin, Andrew Thomas,
Nic Fusco, Avery Gehring, Will Thomas, Courtney Walsh, John Lahiff and Joe Lahiff
Members Absent:
Shannon DeGuglielmo, Karen Duprey, Chris Grant, James Laurenzi, Gillian
Goolkasian, Becca Dennings, Ashley Walsh, Emma Berman, Lee Katz, Ryan Buschini and
Rachael Michelson
1.The Meeting Minutes from the previous meeting were approved by the commission.
2.Next we collected money for Tee Shirts and Sweatshirts. If you still owe, Tee Shirts are

$10 and Sweatshirts are $35. It needs to be cash or a check made out to LYC.
who still owe are: James $10, Chris $45, Ben $10, Becca $10, Ashley $10, Emma
$10, Ashley $10, Lee $10 and Ryan $10. Please get your money to a LYC board
member or bring it next meeting.
3.Next we collected money for the Candy Drive. People who still need to hand this in are:
James, Chris, Gillian, John M., Becca, Nic, Lee and Ryan. GET THE MONEY TO
DEB ASAP.
4.We discussed the Halloween Drive. It went well, having 9 members show up to hang up
balloons. Three people cancelled last minute which cannot happen in the future, and
because of this, adults from local businesses had to help. It took about 2 hours, which is a
little longer than expected.
5.The Turkey Dinner Drive will consist of approximately 30 dinners that need to be
distributed around the town on the day before Thanksgiving, the 26th. We will meet at
the C&W Bus Yard (240 Bedford st.) at 3:00. Sean made the protocol for this very clear:
You do not discuss where or who you deliver the dinners to because of confidentiality
issues. People who can drive are: Annie, Shaun, Becca, Ryan, Lee and Gillian (James
maybe). People who can hand out dinners are: Mark, Tommy, Avery, Andrew, Elizabeth,
John M, Janelle,Vanessa, Nic and Ashey.
6.Next we discussed the fundraising we will be doing at the Tree Lighting in the center on
Friday, November 28th from 4:30 to 7:00. We will be walking around raising money for
Lexington families in need. We will meet behind Michelson’s Shoes in the Muzzy Street
parking lot. People who can attend are: Shaun, Elizabeth, Janelle, Tommy, Joe and John
L. Maybes are: Rachel, Andrea, John M. and Avery.
7.We will also do fundraising at the Lexington Symphony Concert on December 5th, at
LHS at 8pm. People who can attend are: Vanessa, Mark, Andrea, Andrew and Will.

8.Lastly we discussed the fundraising at Sunoco and Ace Hardware.

fundraise. Everyone needs to take at least one spot.
OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $2400 BY THE NEXT MEETING!
THERE IS A NEW ATTENDENCE RULE: IF YOU SIGN UP FOR AN EVENT, AND
YOU CANNOT ATTEND, YOU HAVE UP UNTIL 5 DAYS BEFORE TO LET YOUR
TEAM LEADER KNOW IF YOU CANNOT GO. AFTER THAT YOU HAVE TO BE
THERE, NO EXCUSES!
The next meeting will be held at the DPW at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 12th, 2014
