Meeting Minutes October 9, 2014
Members Present:
Victoria Buckley, Chair, Linda Vine, Assistant Town Manger and ADA Coordinator, Joe Pato,
Selectmen Liaison, Fred Lonardo, Building Commissioner, Janet Perry, Francine Stieglitz,
Jullie Miller, Sue Cusack
Clarification of proposal for bylaw about brick sidewalks
Victoria will meet with Norman Cohen, Selectmen, once a meeting can be scheduled
Reaction of Selectmen about letter
The letter was not received and will be resent.
Update about Clarke School elevator and the Title 11 study
Elevator will be installed in the Summer 2015
Mark Barrett is updating the report across all the departments and will present a revised
report next month
Update about Harrington Park, 394 Lowell Street, Lexington
The owner is moving forward with an accessible bathroom Victoria sent a letter to
Architectural Access Board (AAB) about this situation, noting that an accessible bathroom
was being installed in an inaccessible building The AAB responded saying the owners
should have a long-term plan in place to address making the building accessible
Action Victoria will send a letter to the owner about this concern
Update from the Grain Mill Alley Public Workshops
Sue Cusack attended the public meeting in September and offered suggestions on the two
proposals that were submitted Sue reported that neither proposal did included brick.
Action Sue will attend the next planning meeting, which is scheduled for October 16, 2014
at 7.00pm at the Library
State plans to re-do Route 2A Marrett/Maple/Lowell/Summer with ramps
Report provided by David Kucharsky about his work with the state on this effort with the
recommendation for additional crosswalk. We will receive an update in a few months.
Upcoming meeting with Hanscom Area Towns Committee on 10/23
The meeting is to discuss the relative the benefit of forming a "Commission on Disability"
Additional new business and update on new projects
Francine Stieglitz is stepping down as the liaison to the Center Committee Another
member of the Commission will be identified to take her place
