Tour of new Community Center - Commission met at the new Community Center, at 39 Marrett
Road A tour was led by Pat Goddard. Commission members were joined by Sheila Butts from
Recreation and Charlotte Rodgers from the Senior Center Tour included all aspects of the site with
intended functions of each room specified.
Special attention was paid to the fitness area, on the lower level A request was amade by a resident
for a separate sensory room area intended for people with sensory issues who may or may not be also
on the autism spectrum. Commission felt that isolation was not the answer—that careful and judicious
integration was preferable —with possibly an alcove of the main room set aside for sensory items.
Suggestions for entrances and incorporating more natural light in the lower area were offered by Len,
and Pat said that more discussion will follow
