Minuteswillbereviewedatthenextmeeting. II. HumanServicesDepartmentUpdate:CharlotteReportedonthemanystaffing changestakingplaceinthedepartmentaswellasdepartmentstatistics. . Seeattachedmemorandum ShealsonotedthatAliciaGruens,RN,hadalsobeenhiredtoworkPTandwillbe focusingonwellnessprogramsandpartneringwiththeDept.ofPublicHealth. Charlottedescribedthenewmodelasdecreasingindividualworkandfocusingmore onamodelofscreeningsandwellness. HOMELESSΑCharlottereportedthatwith9ƒźƌǤ͸ƭleavingshewilltakeover leadershipoftheFamiliesExperiencingHomelessnesscommittee.GailF.willremain onthecommitteeasHSCrepresentative.Shereportedthattherearecurrently15 familieslivingatthemotel.TheUpliftgroupcomprisedofrepresentativesfromthe differentchurchesandtemplesisplanningamonthlycommunitydinnerthatwillbe opentoallandincludethefamilieslivingatthemotel.Threechildrenalsoattended Haydensummercamponscholarships. III.CommunityCenterUpdate Charlottereportedontheproposedstructureofthe CommunityCenterashavingaDirector,BuildingSupervisorandAdministrative Department.Thecommitteediscussedhowtheconfigurationofthenewcenterwill impactthedepartmentandtheHSCcommittee.Sheisrecommendingpositionsfor twosocialworkerswithafocusonSeniorsandFamiliesandYouth.Themembersof thecommitteeurgedthattheFamiiesandYouthpositionbemaintained. IV.GoalsandObjectivesfor20142015Α Thecommitteediscussedthechangingroleof thecommitteeandhowitwouldimpactgoalsandpriorities.Theymaintainedthat theneedwouldstillexisttolookatunmetneedsandreviewhowthecurrentmodel isworking.TheydiscussedtheirroleofadvisingboththeCommunityCenterTask ForceandtheBoardofSelectmen. V.Nextmeeting_Thecommitteewouldliketohearfromthegroupreportingonthe YouthRiskBehaviorSurvey.Afterabriefdiscussionofsomeoftheirpreliminary findings,itwasdecidedthatGailRogersshouldwaituntilwehaveheardtheirreport beforecontinuingtopursueherassignmentofunderstandingtheunmetneedsof youthinthecommunity.Shewill,however,continuetolookforperspective committeememberswithafocusonparentsofschoolagechildren.Recruitmentof amorediversecommitteeremainsagoal.
