Executive Session
Community Preservation Committee
Monday, January 12, 2009
Legion Room, Cary Memorial Building
1605 Massachusetts Avenue
5:25 pm
Present:
Committee Members:
Betsey Weiss, Chair; Marilyn Fenollosa, Vice Chair; Joel Adler,
Norman Cohen, Wendy Manz, Sandy Shaw and Dick Wolk.
Administrative Asst:
Nathalie Rice
At 5:25 pm, upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted by a roll call to enter into
Executive Session under Exemption 6 to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of
real property and to reconvene in Open Session; the Chair declaring that an Open Meeting
might have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the Town.
1. Leary Property
- Mr. Wolk reported to the Committee that the Conservation
Commission had received a plan from the land planner showing five lots on the
Leary property. The plan had been sent to the appraiser, with a complete
appraisal expected by the end of the week.
2.Busa Property
- Mr. Wolk also updated the Committee on the progress of
negotiations for the Busa Property, for which the Town has the right of first
refusal. He said there were eleven lots on the By-Right plan, and added that there
had been some discussion within the Conservation Commission’s Land Planning
Committee of a mixed use plan including affordable housing. Since the Busa
home is an historic house, Ms. Fenollosa mentioned that a 12-month delay would
be required before the house could be demolished. Ms. Weiss added that she was
aware that Town Manager, Carl Valente, hoped to put together a committee to
study the best options for the property.
After a duly conducted roll call vote, the Committee voted to return to Open Session at
5:37 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Nathalie Rice
