HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-09-04-HDC-min PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION Minutes of Thursday, September 4, 2014, Selectman’s Meeting Room, Lexington Town Offices, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue at 7:00PM Commissioners present: Joseph Welch, Chair, Lynn Hopkins, Paul Ross, Daniel Griffin and Robert Warshawer Associate Commissioners: Marilyn Fenollosa, Barbara Feldman, Jon Wardwell and Britta McCarthy Department Clerk: Linda Rainville 7:00 PM 4 Pleasant Street: Ronald O’Brien presented plans to repair 2 decks (first floor and second floor). He will remove rails, balusters, screen enclosures and rotted wood. He will replace rails, balusters and floor with pressure treated wood. Approved All in favor 7:10 PM 14 Curve Street: Aaron Simms, Astrum Solar, presented plans to install ten Yingli 250w solar panels on the roof. One inch conduit will be placed on the side of the house (cannot be painted). A solar inverter and two meters will be installed on the outside of the house. Approved 4 in favor, 1 opposed 7:15 PM 847 Massachusetts Avenue: Colin Smith presented plans for a two family home, two car garage and mudroom and front porch repair. The barn will be painted yellow (matching existing). Windows will be Windsor Pinnacle series 2 over 2 windows. Windows will be all wood. New gutters will match existing aluminum gutters. Barn door has not been selected and lighting has not been selected. Continued to next meeting 7:25 PM 37 Hancock Street: Charles Coy presented plans to refinish his driveway with existing cobbles and asphalt. Approved All in favor CONTINUED HEARINGS 1775 and 1761 Massachusetts Avenue : Melisa Tintocalis presented plans of suggested usage of the area, such as a “pocket park”. Continued to next meeting 10 Lockwood Road : Cancelled 11 Bloomfield Street : John Sterman showed the Commission the paint colors for his house. Shingles will be gray (Benjamin Moore – Booth Bay Gray) Trim will be white and door will be red Approved All in Favor 13 Bedford Street: Colin Smith presented plans for a side addition of an enclosed porch on the first floor and a screened in porch on the second floor. Continued to next meeting 2101 Massachusetts Avenue: Mariellen Rodman presented new plans for the garage awnings and brackets. She also showed plans for renovating her porch and stairs. Approved All in Favor INFORMAL HEARINGS Battle Green: Dawn McKenna and Christopher Bing, presented plans for a “story-telling” sign to be constructed on the Battle Green. 975 Massachusetts Avenue: David Ardito, presented plans to expand and pave his driveway. This would give the driveway parking for four cars. Minutes from August 7, 2014 approved as written.
