HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-10-16-2020-min (Initiating Committee) Initiating Committee October 16, 1998 Minutes Members present: Rick White, Peter Enrich, Chuck Benson, Helen Cohen, Clark Cohen, Robin DiGiammarino, Alan Lazarus, Fred Merrill, Peggy Perry, Marjorie Platt, Fernando Quezada Staff Support present: Michael Baker Call to Order Introduction of Town Manager’s Office Staff Support Beth Anne Sobieszczyk 862-0500 x278 Michael Baker 862-0500 x297 Announced Changes in the membership of the group Review of Committee Charge Agreed upon the mission of the Initiating Committee as stated in the original Initiating Committee charge The importance of keeping in mind the scope of the entire exercise at this early stage was also brought up. Other Business: Lexington Planning Department Resources Presentation By Planning Director Bob Bowyer. See attached handout for list of available local resources. Agreement on Timetable: Initiating Committee meetings set through December . The meetings will take place at 7:45 a.m. in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room on the following dates: November 6, November 13, December 4, December 18. Discussion Topics A suggestion was made to set goals/milestones for the initiating committee, by which the group would determine what was to be accomplished by each date. It was also suggested that the initiating committee present progress reports to the Board of Selectmen on a regular basis. Initiating Committee Tasks: Sub-Committee Formation The Initiating Committee voluntarily split into two sub-committees, each assuming a different task. The tasks and sub-committee members are listed below 1. Select a stakeholder group that reflects the community’s interests and Perspectives: Peter Enrich, Helen Cohen, Clark Cohen, Peggy Perry 2. Design a process that will reach the desired outcomes of the community effort: Fred Merrill, Marjorie Platt, Robin Digiammarino, Chuck Benson, Alan Lazarus The sub-committees agreed to meet individually and return on November 6 to discuss their progress.
